Reconstruction of a Basque fishing boat

This project is an interactive 3D reconstruction of a real Basque fishing boat, designed to run directly in a web browser using WebGL and optimised for mobile devices, with no application to install. The model recreates the Santana Berria, a Basque fishing vessel based in Getaria, in great detail. We documented the boat on site, gathering real photographs and references alongside its former skipper, who explained how each part worked and what it was used for. The experience lets users explore the boat freely in 3D, rotate around it from any viewpoint and interact with points of interest leading to areas such as the bow, starboard, port and bridge. Each area reveals new interactive elements leading to a photographic content viewer, with real images of the interior and detailed explanations of every element and its purpose. An experience created to share maritime heritage through an interactive environment accessible on the web.
