Etxaburu Tower House

According to legend, it was first built in Roman times and has been reconstructed several times over the centuries. Its silhouette is iconic and forms part of the area’s history. Its vertical structure, with several floors to explore, made it a fascinating interactive project. We created an aerial view that allows visitors to “fly” around the rooms and understand the building’s structure.
AN EXISTING BUILDING\nThe exterior looks almost unchanged because it has been carefully maintained. Reconstructing an existing place as it appeared in the past is always a challenge, especially when its present-day appearance has barely changed.

MEDIEVAL INTERIOR\nThere is no surviving information about the original interior. Researching what it might have looked like was a fascinating process: we explored the most similar tower houses we could find and applied the same architectural logic to Etxaburu.
